I have a John Elliot born 30th July 1870 in Ballarat, His parents were both born in Scotland, his father was Thomas Beattie Elliot born 31st March 1846 Roxburgh scotland. He married Agnes Watson born 28th Oct 1848 in Kilmarnock Scotland. Thomas and Agnes married oct 1869 in Ballarat. Thomas's father was John Elliot born c1801 roxburgh. Mother Helen Scott born c1804 Galashiels, Scotland. They married c1822. Agnes's father was Robert Watson, her mother was Ellen Muir. I would like more info, e.g. what boat did Thomas and Agnes come over on, and when? When did John leave for NZ? Does anybody know anything about their lives? The Elliot's going back to 1800's is said to have been master tailors employing 10 men in Scotland.
