I am searching for my birth mother. I was born January 29, 1964, at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. It is myunderstanding that she was from New York, and was working as a nurse in Akron Ohio. My biological father, from what I understand, was a travelling musician, and was not aware of her pregnancy. I was adopted through Family Services of Summit County, Ohio. I am trying to establish my standing as a Cherokee Indian, because the non-identifying information I received indicated that my biological father was at least 1/4 and maybe 1/2 Cherokee.
