Per the baptism record of her daughter, Dorothea Batz (Batze) (Bobstz) was born in Buchenbach, Troth-Mittlefranken, Bayern, Germany circa 1823. Her immigration record shows her entering Baltimore, Maryland, USA on 30 Aug 1848 from Bremen on the ship Huntingdon.
She married John Neck in 1848 in St James’ Church in Maryland.
She was buried in St Joseph’s Cemetery in Emmitsburg, Frederick, Maryland on 17 Jul 1915. Her gravestone shows her date of birth as 16 Oct 1823.
I have been told that she was Catholic.
Any information on Dorothea’s parents or siblings would be greatly appreciated.
