Looking for any information on William Edward Holmes, he was born in Illinois, I think in Fayette County, as he was married to Alice Hibner on Aug. 8, 1894 in Fayette County. She was born in Buffalo, New York His mothers name was Mary. He had the following children Anna Bell, James, Minnie, Viola, all born in Illinois, Bessie Vivian, Elvina Marie, Precival E Holmes, Percilla June, Randall Eugene, Arnord Justice, and Lloyd William, all born in Michigan Where he moved his family between 1900-1910. In the 1900 census he is listed as living in Vandalia, Fayette, Illinois with his wife Alice, children Anna, Minnie and Mother Mary, which states that her father was born in Illinois and mother born in Ohio.
There is a marriage for a Ewing Holmes and Mary Ann Brown, dated Dec 31, 1865, this may be his parents. If so they are listed on the 1880 census. William's birth year is stated as 1873, but on his Headstone it is listed 1870-1930.
