I just recently learned that my great grandfather known as Thomas McCreal.McCrail in the Us (Fall River Mass) came from Waterford Ireland in 1869 on the ship Emerald Isle. i had originally thought his name was McGreal in Ireland but was informed that no such name exists in the church records in all the parishes in Waterford. He was born on May 24, 1849, and came to this country on April 6, 1869. In this country he went by the above surnames. Having enlisted the Wateford Heritage Services in Irfeland, I recently found out that the only records that could possibly be related to Thomas
McCrail, could be Thomas Creen/Cureen and Mary
Foley. The only records of a Thomas being baptised with a Thomas and Mary as parents, with the date of baptism in June, a month after the birth of Thomas, has the last names of renn and
Cureen. I wasw also told that the name in present day is Curran. I have no idea if this is
my relative, but what I do know is that, according to his naturalization papers, he was born in Waterford Ireland. If anyone has any
