My great grandfather, James Newton Hardin was born 13 Dec 1869. His death certificate says he was born in AL. His mother's name was Mary Conway Hardin born in 1848 in AL. She married Johnathan Mitchell Hardin of Wayne County TN (born 1854 in TN). I was always told that Jonathan Hardin was NOT his real father so I don't know who is. One story says that the first time Jonathan Hardin saw Mary Conway she was in a wagon holding a baby. This is a family mystery that I would love to solve.
