You are contacting the submitter of the query: Hello to All:
My names is Laura M. Green-Moore my great grandparent Gaston born in 1820 in Tenn. & Emily maiden name unknown born in 1848 in Alabama and were held in Foreman, Arkansas as salves.
Gaston and Emily had the following children: Van Buren born in 1860, Matty or Mattie born in 1868, Stephen born in 1870, Lee (my grandfather) born in 1872, and Vail. Born in 1876. Lee Green married Louisa or Louiza Tines or Hall they had three children: Willie Ellis (a female), Van; and Gaston Green (my father) born in 1911. He married the former Lonnie Bea Bailey born in 1922 and together they had five children: Ida Mae, Gaston, Jr., Laura M., Verlene & Pearlene (Twins).
Gaston (my great-grandfather) I have been told was married several times and had approximately 17 or more children. Therefore, George and William may have been his sons by a previous marriage opposed to his brothers (as I had previously thought). George was born in 1856 and William born in 1847. Gaston, George and William were all found together on the 1880 Census in the County of Little River, and the township of Jackson living close to one another.
George was married to Matty (maiden name unknown born in 1854) their children were: Edward born in 1868, Eliza born in 1871, Pinky born in 1872. The last entry under George’s household was Dolly or Dolla or Dollie born in 1820 relationship to the family Mother-in-law of George.
William was married to Sarah Jane (maiden name unknown born in 1850) their children were: Almeda born in 1866, William 1868, Dora born in 1870, Melvina born in 1973, and Martha born in 1976.
This Green branches of my family tree has proven to be very elusive. Prior to my fathers death in 1955 all contact with Green side of the family was lost. My Aunt Willie Ellis moved to Pasadena, California first seeking work. She purchased a home and sent for her brothers. Gaston and Lonnie Bea his wife moved to Pasadena in 1943 and Uncle Van followed a few years later and the was the last to leave Arkansas. With the exception of my father’s sister and brother (and Uncle Van’s children) there has never been any contact with my father’s side of the family. My father passed in April of 1955 and since that time Willie Ellis (Big Mama) and Uncle Van have also passed away, this left us with no connection to the Greens. I have been told that family members are still residing in Little River County. However, to date I have not been able to make contact with any of them. If anyone has any information no matter how small please contact me via e-mail or phone at Bone@mail.tqci.net or MooreLM2@navair.navy.mil or (301) 862-1358 (H) or (301) 757-3357 (W).
Thanking you in advance for your cooperation in this matter and with every good wish, I am.
Cordially yours,
Laura M. Green-Moore
