I am looking for any help with the surnames "Mease", "Walkey", and "Kapaska".
My gr-gr-grandfather was John (Jacob) Mease. He was born in Lebanon County, PA in 1836. His family moved to Freeport, Stephenson County, IL. In 1863, he married Elizabeth Walkey. They had their first few children in Freeport; later moving to Saline County, Nebreska; then to Audubon, Audubon County, Iowa; and finally on to Stone County, MO where he lived until he died.
The oldest son, Edson Alvin Mease married Mary (Augusta) Kapaska in Audubon, Iowa. They lived in Stone County, where most of their children were born before settling in Barber County, KS.
