You are contacting the submitter of the query: I found the family of my great grandfather, Cash Conner b1860/1861 in Sheffield Illinois ......I was told he was one of 4 boys, their father Osmer Conner, grandfather Gideon Conner and great grandfather Edmund Conner were all born in Vermont and fought in early american wars. I have a picture of Cash's father, Osmer Conner taken in Holten, Kansas I believe after the Civil war(he fought for the Union with Illinois 151stInfantry). This was taken possibly around 1880 per the Census of that year where he is shown to be living in Sumner County, Wellington, Kansas , divorced with a Thomas G. Conner, 15years of age but do not know first names of his other sons. Osmer eventually ends up in Malachite , Colorado from which he is admitted to the Vets Home in Rio Grande County, Monte Vista Colorado living there & finally dying there in 1921. I also have a picture of Cash's only child, (Osmer's grandson) Arthur, my grandfather taken in Kansas City, Missouri about ?1893/1894? with godparents Arthur Gauthier & Victoria Duffy Gauthier. Cash's mother's maiden name was Frances Davis, born in New York approx 1830's. Cash married an immigrant, Catherine Elizabeth Duffy of County Mayo Ireland and they lived in Denver, Co in late 1889/1891, eventually migrated to Los Angles Calif where she died 1898 and he died 1953. Attached is a picture of Cash, Catherine and son, Arthur Conner taken about ? ?1893/1894?.
We are no longer at a brick wall as we now know that the family goes back to cornelius conner who arrived in NH in 1656 as an indentured Irish sevant. If you wish more info, please contact me.
