I'm looking for any information on the family of Henery Hughes who retired on the half pay from the British Army and who lived in Trois Riviers Quebec in the 1820s-1840 and then in Montreal for the rest of his life. His father was Capt.Hughes a famous military personage from London, I believe. Henery's wife was Mary Cartwright whose father Edward Cartwright had a distinguished military career in the British Army in Canada. The Hughes had a large family. One daughter was Marianna Robinson Hughes. She married William Radcliff of Beersbridge Belfast. Any inquiries will be welcomed.
