I'm trying to find descendants of Major Forbes Ross Macdonald,Superintendent of Penang from(3rd April 1796-1797/1798-1799).He died in Madras.
His Parents:Allan Macdonald of Knock,Sleat & Sibella Macleod.
His biography:Entered the 59th Regiment as Ensign on 1st November 1772, and afterwards settled in Prince of Wales Island, but, in 1796, he went to Madras. He died before March 1801, when Letters of Administration of his estate were granted to the attorney of his widow, Elizabeth MacDonald, then living in Manchester and Statham Lodge, Lymm, Cheshire.
