Services for John Houston WEBB, 91, of New London, will be 2p.m. Thursday at the Clark Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Lake in charge. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park.
Mr. WEBB died Monday afternoon at his home.
He was born 22 Feb 1884 in Lewis County to William and Harriet Flick WEBB. He was married to Mary Alice Aten on 19 Nov 1904 in Hannibal amd she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, John E WEBB, Palmyra and Marion F WEBB, Ft. Morgan,Colo., four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Whitaker, New London, Mrs, Idella Keller, Palmyra, Mrs Lorene Fible, Monroe City and Mrs Ruth Mack, Hannibal: a sister Mrs Bertie Jessup, Quincy,IL; 28 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mr WEBB was a retired machinist for the MK and T Railroad. He attended Arch Street Methodist Church.
Visitation will be after 4p.m. Wednesday until time of services at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Whitaker, Charles Whitaker, Ronnie Mack, Glenn WEBB, James WEBB and Robert WEBB.
John H WEBB was my husband's great-uncle.
William L and Harriet was his great-grandparents.
Bertie WEBB Jessup was his grandmother.
Melvina Elizabeth "Nooky" Jessup Castle (Bertie's daughter) is his mother.
Please e-mail me if you have further info about my husband's WEBB line. Trying to find the death date and burial spot of John H WEBB's father, WILLIAM L WEBB.
He was to have died (1904?) before Bertie's wedding to Walter Riley Jessup 19 Sep 1904 in Hannibal,MO. Family story states that Bertie found her father dead while cutting wood.
Surely with all these children and grandchildren, etc. some one out there has to know of this WEBB line.
