Looking for anyone who might have info on Joseph E. Elders, born Feb. 21, 1868, died Aug. 17, 1896. He is buried at the Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Evans County, GA near Daisy/Claxton. Josph E. Elders is buried near Aaron M. Elders, born Sep. 25, 1840, died May 11, 1912 (probably his father). His mother was probably Mary Elizabeth Elders who had been married before to a Burkhalter.
I believe that my great grandmother, Sarah Melissa Bacon Thompson was married to Joseph E. Elders and had 4 daughters by him: Virta Elders, Lillian (nicknamed "Lizzie")Elders, Ruby Elders, and Fleta Elders. Sarah Melissa Thompson Elders later married George Martin Bogsted from Denmark. They lived most of their lives in Pembroke and Hazlehurst, GA. Both Sarah Melissa and George Martin Bogsted are buried in Hazlehurst, Jeff Davis County, GA.
I believe this "Elders" family later moved to Reidsville, GA.
