My great grandfather Richard Radcliffe/Ratcliffe set off from his home town Liverpool, England for Pittsburg, Pennsylvania about 1887 with three friends. I have a photograph sent from America of the four men. Richard was born 3 November 1852 and a paviour (paver) by trade. As far as I know he never returned to Liverpool, England.
I have a copy of the 1900 Census for Pittsburgh Ward 1, Allegheny, Pennsylvania and a Richard Ratcliffe is listed living with his wife Delia and son William, his occupation is Paver. Could anyone help me in finding out if this is in fact my ancestor? Any help would be very grateful.
