Hi I am looking for more information on Charles Cote/Cota born somewhere in French Canada in June 1836. He married Philomene Hangard dite Lappollice (born 1839, also in French Canada) in 1859. They immigrated to the United States in 1877. They had 10 children. Philomin baptized September 1861, and died 1951--and as far as I can tell never came to the United States. Carmin who was baptized August 1862 and died October 1863. Napoleon who was baptized August 1864 and died January 1933. Victoria who was baptized August 1866 and died 1941. Joseph who was baptized June 1868 and died October 1948. Evelina who was baptized July 1876 and died 1897. Melinda who was baptized October 1878 and 1967. William who was baptized June 1879 and died 1961. Henry who was baptized May 1883 and died June 1962. I also have a reference to a Marie Cota baptized June 1887 and died 1900. All of which comes from a family bible that disappeared after my aunt recorded this information. Based on dates I am assuming that Philomene Hangard dite Lappollice died during childbirth. I also know that Charles re-married once for sure. Her name was Adelaide....I do not know her maiden name. From the information I have now, I believe that Charles Cote's parents were Charles and Adelaide Corriveau; and that Philomene's parents were Jacques Hangard dit Lappollice and Marie-Anne Pelerin. Other than names, I have no other information on them. My great-grandfather was Joseph Cota (fifth born) he married Delana Gagnon (I have seen her given name spelled many different ways including Delina, Delena, Delima, Delema), she was born in Canada in 1874 and immigrated to the US in 1878. She had two brothers one older and one younger. The oldest was Adolf Gagnon born 1868, and her younger brother was Duffield born 1884. According to the Minnesota 1885 state census, they were living with Honore and Adeline Gagnon both age 62--I am guessing that Honore and Adeline are not their parents. There is a family story that Delina's younger brother disappeared during the time of World War I. I know that in 1900 he was in Oriska, ND, living with Joseph and Delina at the age of 16. If any one has any information on the lines of Joseph's siblings, Delina's siblings, Charles' parents or Philomene's parents I would be most grateful for the assistance. Thank you, Andrea Cota
