I am trying to find out more information on my great grandmother. She was born in or near Bremen Germany april 16,1891. She came to the U.S. before 1913. Her first name was hildegarde, but the problem is I have seen many variations of her last name: banfer, benfer, baenfer, bemfer, baufer.
