My gggrandfather Lyman Ditson moved to Lee. Co. Iowa in 1839 with his first wife Ann Douglas. They had no children but adopted John and Emaline Cochran. Ann died Jan 7, 1849 and Lyman remarried to Lucinda Rose (my gggrandmother) in 1853. They had 5 sons said to be born in Franklin.
