My half uncle, Arthur Ronald Coulson Ball, was born 19 May 1940 in Preston, Lancashire, England. As far as I know, he was illegitimate and I do not know what happened to his father, an Arthur Ball, a fireman in WW2. His mother, my grandmother, died in 1945 and my mother, his sister, put him in a home, from where, I understand, he was adopted by a couple from Canada. This would have been about 1946 ...
