I was in the Florence Crittenton Home in Charlotte, NC from June 1, 1971. My son was born on October 3, 1971 at 7:20 p.m. weighing 8 lbs. 3 ozs. and 21 inches long. I did not want to give him up but was forced by my father to do so. I am white and I turned 18 on September 21, just two weeks before the birth. His father is black and we both live in Wilkesboro.
