I am looking for information on William P.J. Taaffe (ca. 1836-1901), born in Dublin, the son of Francis Taaffe. He apparently studied in Trinity College and emigrated to New York probably in the late 1850's or in the 1860�s. He became a quite prosperous dealer in drygoods, and married in New York, in 1870, to Anna Dixon, from Downpatrick, Co. Down, the daugher of William Dixon. Would like to know ... Taffe: Thomas Taaffe was my grandfather. His father was Thomas also. family information says that he was b uried in St. Ann's cemetry in phila., Pa. His mother was Sarah nee rafferty.
