The Doughty ancestors I am researching lived in East Feleciana Parish, LA. My grandfather was Homer Cecil Doughty, who after 30 years on the police force in Natchez, MS died in Feb.1933, his father was Alexander Scott Doughty, and his father was Levi D. and his father was Reuben Doughty,who married Mary Reece in Amite county, MS in March of 1813.
