I can trace back to Michael Helmantel in Manakees, Fredrick, Maryland USA. Some family lines list him as son of Johan Anton Hellenthal from Bingen. I found a Michael Helmandel who was born in 1600 in Bingen. His surname is also spelled Helmantel or Hilmantel. There are also others listed in the "Die Stadt der Feuerbr�nde Bingen".
